'On View' is our latest window exhibition with works from Anna Freeman Bentley, Ryan Orme, Nicole Price, Luke Silva and Agnes Treherne.
A common motif with a rich history across painting brings together the five works in this exhibition, the window. By looking inward, outward and through, these paintings explore the transitional space that the frame of a window can create. Whilst a window provides a view, either into or outside of a space, it is at the same time, a barrier - what one sees through a window can never truly be reached, it can only be seen from the other side. By utilising this framework within their paintings Freeman Bentley, Orme, Price, Silva and Treherne place parts of their depictions just out of our grasp; they are simply on view.⠀⠀
